Hello, great site you folks have here.
We race slot cars and build all kinds of old dirt racers.
Here is one...not NEARLY as detailed as the work you folks do...but she runs great and looks the part on our oval.

What scale is that? I remember years ago racing the 1/24 size slot cars. Does Anyplace around Parkersburg still do that?

It is 1/24/25 it is the Model King Chevelle.
I am in South Central Missouri.
Here is a couple more:

Modeled it after Mr. Flock

| Nice slot cars! I still have in my attic several 1/32 scale Eldon Slot Car sets from the early 60's. I also have the Eldon drag strip set and "Christmas Tree" starting line. Haven't had them out for many years.

Your Eldon Dragster set is worth some pretty good coin if it's in good shape. If you need restoration parts or tires check out Tiny Motors and get playin' with those again!

First post here and I have to thank you Jim and say what a great site you have assembled here. I'm an ex-late model pilot up here in Michigan and I'm digging the pic's I'm finding here of some of the Michigan boys that made the trips to Heidelberg and Pennsboro Speedways. I'm also a slot car racer and I'm good friends with Homeracingworld Harry. Check out his site homeracingworld.com under the oval section for some circle track slot car action. I checked for some slot car raceways in the Parkersburg area and there may be a track in Midway WV. The only other raceways I could find were up near Columbus and Newark OH.

First, I want to say I am impressed with all these slot cars. It brings back memories of my own slot cars that arrived under the Christmas tree many years ago. Even though I never tried racing there, I remember watching older kids race on the big slot car track in the back of Wilson's Hobby Shop in Parkersburg, WV. Thanks for posting these pictures and letting us know that slot cars are still alive.
I also want to say that it was always a big thing when the Michigan guys started towing down to Pennsboro. Ray Nece in the #3, Marv Parenteau in Stan Yee's #33, Erv Baumgartner in the #108 were a few that still stick out in my mind. It has been nice to revisit those cars on this wonderful website.

Those are some awesome cars! I got the slot car bug from my uncle-he had Strombecker 1/32 cars, a Ferrari GT and a Cooper which I still have. I grew up in Parkersburg; never saw the big track at Wilson's; did race HO cars at his place in the mall.
Several years ago I bought a 1967 American Models Raceway track; the "Red" model which is 150' in running length with 8 lanes. It takes up a space of 24' X 50'! It would not fit in my old barn in Culloden, but does at our new place. Still has aways to go but hope to get running in the next year or so. Any old racing nuts will be welcome!
