Hey Ronnie, we must have crossed paths somewhere in the pits on Saturday nights at the "Leaf". I was part owner of Bob Terlop's #29 and later the #32. Didn't Lew Hatch owned the #26 Pontiacs? The hardtops on Saturday night were the best racing going and outdrew the late models both in cars and fans. #16. That sounds real familiar. I'll have to see if I can find my old programs. We raced with Stepnowski, Gibson, Kingsmill, Volk, Bennici, the Smelcer Brothers and a whole bunch of others. Hardtop pictures are really hard to find, but one of Ralph Mismas's friends son supposedly has a ton of them. Good memories.

Bob Terlop in Ron Volk's car, winning the "Winner Take All" series of races. We had the motor scattered in pieces earlier and Ron offered Bob his car for the final race for the Winner Take All Championship. That was fun and also when racing was friendly.

| Here's one of Lew Hatch's drivers you forgot. Kenny Carpenter. Kenny was a pretty good driver and a lot older that we thought. He had raced at Sportsman Park back in the 50's and for the Gullatta brothers at Painesville. A great guy. We sold him our 57 Chevy when we built the Camaro. The Sherman Brothers also had a good running Pontiac driven by Red Moore. Red was a good friend. Kitty James (Bob's widow) told me she heard he passed away down in Florida. We also a good time racing with Jim and John Moore. Jimmy passed away about two years ago. John is still living in Bedford. I talk to him know and then. Dave Hagen is also gone. Terlop passed away about 12 years ago from cancer. Saw Ed Smelcer at the Cloverleaf Reunion in July. I help Tommy Shaver (Clyde's son) put it on every July. It will be July 19th and we have a pretty good turnout of old drivers. Attachment: carpenter.jpg (Downloaded 114 times)

I see Bob now and then. He was at the Cloverleaf Reunion and he hangs around with a chuirch group that includes Bob Terlops widow, Sandi. I've been out with them a couple of times. I'll give him a call this week and tell him we've talked. I am pretty sure I know who you are now. RP.
