Those are great!!!  Can you e-mail me a full-size scan of those yearbook pages?  I have some of those old photos, but not all.  I like to post them on my Historic Stock Car Photos thread on the HAMB section of Jalopyjournal.com, as well as use them in my screensaver slideshow.  I've been looking for a photo of those two Pontiacs of Harry Hyde's for a while now.  Some of my best memories are from the flagstand at the fairgrounds.  My e-mail address is indybigjohn@roadrunner.com.

Thanx...

Also, interesting story about that Iggy Katona engine blowing.  Our photographer showed me a set of those photos, and the first one made me proud.  Iggy was just starting to slide, and the yellow light in the first turn was already on.

I pulled these two out of that yearbook page just because of who they were.  Here are the two Harry Hyde prepared 64 Pontiacs that ran 1-2 in the point standings at FMS in 1965.  The No. 14 with Jesse Baird, and the No. 16 with Andy Hampton.  Both were yellow and white.  That's John Marcum, the founder of MARC and then ARCA, with Andy, who had just set a new track record of 16.01 seconds.  A couple of weeks later, Jesse lowered the record to 15.90.

Jerry Norris.  As of last summer, this guy was still racing.  And he's close to my age (70)...

I remember him. I'll have to look through my photos. I'm busy into the racing season at our little short track in Kentucky so it might take a while.
