I am looking for photos of that car to see if was the 'Nestor Special' car #63 owned by Hobe Nestor.    Nester owned a car that was orginally a champ dirt car built by Bob Pankratz in 1952 and owned by Emmett Malloy.   Gil Morcroft bought it in early August 1955 and ran it as the 'Morcroft Special'.

Then we know it was run as a 'super-modified' when owned by Hobe Nestor and on August 29, 1962 Ernie Lowe won the 100 lap Supermodified Feature race at Sharon Speedway in the Nestor Special car #63 (see photo).    We know Jim Seese also drove for Hobe Nestor but have no photos of the car with Jim as the driver.   We know he drove in the Ohio and Pennsylvania areas.

Hobe Nestor had other drivers - we would like any information on who else drove for him and photos of driver with car to confirm it is the same car.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Actually Jim Seese was killed while driving the Ted Swiontek (sp) Trevis car. But Jim did race a car that looked much like the car in that photo before taking the Swinotek ride. It was a #88 and I thought it was owned by Bob Plumbly who was from the New Phili, Ohio area. Here's a photo of it in 1962.

RacerJim,

Thanks for the reply.   That does answer one question for sure.
So we are still hunting for the Nestor Special and who owned it next.

Didn't Ed Wiseman drive that car at one time?

Here's a shot of Jim Seese at Portsmouth in 1960. I don't know if this is the car you're looking for or not. It was the only time I remember seeing him. he was a gasser and a winner (not this time). The car has some similarities to the Malloy car featured in the first post but not enough to confirm that it's the same car.Anyway......

Maxspeed99,

Thanks for that shot of Jim Seese.   I will research it to see if it is the Malloy Special.

Racer Jim and Max Speed99,

Both of those pictures are of a different car - not the Malloy Speical.

Appreciate the effort.   The hunt continues.....

Thanks again,   Spike

In my mind those are two different cars.
The Plumly #88 started life as a midget.
The wheel base was extended and thus a super was created.
Jimmy was a nice guy and a winner everywhere he raced.
He was not in the Plumly car when he had the crash at Tri City Franklin Pa.
Tragic end.
